What's the best way to deal with the office brownnoser?

In my office we have this temp who is absolutly DESPERATE to be hired by the company I work for so she latches on to anyone she believes will give her a way in to getting the job. For instance she does things for her current supervisor out side of the office, as well as bring her breakfast, gives her cards for no reason. To another lady in the office she counts down the days till this lady goes on vacation and is counting the days till her return. When I moved to our new floor and took on some duties she seemed to have an attitude towards me and snapped at me a couple times for some rather inocquous stuff. Later it seems she felt I was trying to take the job she wanted away from her. But thankfully she was corrected by her supervisor and apologized for her remarks to me. All was fine until it was time for our managers to make a decision as to whether to hire her or not and she was turned down and now it seems like there is tension between us again. No one likes a brownnoser, right?
